Letter from a 47-year experienced teacher

"When the teacher unites in his heart the love of his profession and the love of his pupils, we can say that he is a perfect teacher." - Lev Tolstoy

KINDERLAND is the ascent of my profession, a fulfillment of a resurrected dream - like the phoenix - of my unconditional love for children. I look back, carefully and reverently leafing through each page of our lives. Every beginning is hard, and ours was no different. They were long, cold, hard but also bright, hopeful days. I knew from experience that whatever does not destroy you, makes you stronger. I am what I am because of my children, my parents and my colleagues who are my light, my hope and my joy. Every day I spend at work is a journey towards myself, on narrow paths on which I am always searching for my childhood and the one I spent with my son. I give and have given to you, in my almost 48 years of teaching, what I would have wished my parents had given to me; my father left us when I needed him most, and my mother has remained for me an example of life. Her love I in turn gave to my son and 'my children'. I say this with great pride, as I am talking about all the little ones who grew up with me and whom I considered my children. My son always reproached me... "And who do I belong to?"

I wanted to write our story from the beginning, but I realized it probably wouldn't interest anyone. Of the 6 books I published, I remember one in particular, called "The Storybook," in which I said... "Fall is here, but, as never before, I wasn't expecting it!" I don't know where I got the impetus and the strength to set up a kindergarten and then a new school. It was like a dream that woke me up. It is the fall of 2002, nature is dying, and I am rising from my own ashes. Together with my family, I managed to give a place to children who had no kindergarten. A safe, loving, scientific place. Now, after almost 17 years, the KINDERLAND School (with kindergarten and nursery) is stronger, more ready for the new generations. I end with a quote that I like very much:

"Don't put limits on anything. The more you dream, the farther you go." - Michael Phelps
