Ecranele Sunt Dusmanii Copiilor

Screens are the enemy of children

Whether we are talking about TV, computer, tablet or phone...all of these should not be part of children's daily life when they are in the family..... they are not part of the basic needs of young children.

In the little time they spend with their family, they should not be encouraged to spend time at the buttons, even if they prefer to spend their time that way. The majority of parents encourage them, express their admiration for their daughter/son's ability to use such an object.....which is really intended for adults. When we try to intervene with pedagogical tact, there are parents who either deny it (the fact that the child has access to the television until late at night) or cut off a discussion we are having on the advice not to get the child addicted to games on the phone, for example .......not to become a habit... the prompt reply comes like a thunderbolt: what habit can this object or a television set create? If it would be an educational game.... well it would be....if it would be a cartoon movie with a parable at the end.......yes, we have 15 minutes....once a week watching such a movie....which ends with commenting on it....discussing the parable and the behavior of the characters. We have a programming, we only watch certain channels where we know that movies are education, good quality shows with age-appropriate content....and the commentaries are directed to develop critical sense, to experience the action, to make them choose their favorite character, to give another solution to the story, to draw a parallel between fiction and reality.

The disappointment of a child who can not receive in everyday life immediate rewards as in electronic games for example, demoralizes and the effort that must be made to win a competition in his life even if he wins the result is worthless. The child gets used to getting any answer with a click, whether it's a mathematical calculation or a character in a book....which he or she doesn't read if he or she knows that the answer is there. THE CHILD NO LONGER THINKS, NO LONGER READS......HERE ARE SO MANY FREE OFFERS WITHOUT INTELLECTUAL EFFORT. The time and effort it takes to achieve a result in a competition , starting from the competition to be the best....or one of the best in the class ....the competition no longer interests him....what is worse in many cases even the parents do not encourage him. Is it because they are annoyed by the child and this is the solution?.....or because they want to be proud of the "high level" at which the child knows how to operate from pre-school age? These parents are sadly mistaken.... knowing how to operate these devices using intelligent technology (also tested by animals) does not require very high-level skills, but in practice they are harmful to the child....very damaging for: sleep, attention, stability during an activity, relationships with peers, parents ... moreover, they are also affected psychologically by imitating the behavior of characters seen in movies or games (the quality of films or shows in general leaves much to be desired)..... it influences their imagination, develops obesity, passivity and even dependence on this way of spending their time. an explosion of visual disorders. Their long-term uncontrolled use has a harmful impact on both school performance and the quality of later learning.

The bottom line: the earlier a child starts watching TV, the poorer his or her performance at school.Students who sleep with the TV in the same room have much poorer grades at school than those who do not have a TV in the room. - say some new international studies.

NATURE IS KEEPING THE TENDENCY TO BECOME DEPENDENT ON SCREENS . I will deal with this topic in another article.
